Job summary

Halogen Engineering Group is seeking a Software Engineer with 2+ years of experience to develop, sustain, and troubleshoot GHOSTGEM's software suite. You will design, test, deploy, document, and enhance complex software systems across analytics, data processing, and real-time domains.

Requirements include Unix/Linux experience, TS/SCI with poly, and strong Java/Spring skills; cloud and containerization experience are advantageous. Onsite in Fort Meade, MD; salary range $175K–$181K per year.

Qualifications

• Experience with Linux CLI and Linux tools.
• Scripting in Bash and Python.
• Recent Java development experience.
• Spring Framework (Spring Boot/Data/Integration).
• Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB).
• Containerization with Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.
• Familiar with Git source control; CI/CD concepts.
• Ability to lead teams per project needs.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user requirements to derive design and performance specs.
• Debug and fix defects in existing software.
• Design, code, test, and deploy software features.
• Write/review software and system documentation.
• Integrate software into new/existing environments.
• Develop data queries for databases/repositories.
• Develop with languages like Java, Python, and others.
• Participate in agile processes and use Git for versioning.
• Lead software development teams as appropriate.
• Develop and maintain relational and non-relational databases.
