Job summary

CipherLogix is seeking a Sr. Information System Security Engineer located in Ft. Meade, MD for a full-time role.

Candidates should have extensive experience across software development, system engineering, and cloud-scale architectures, including distributed storage and SOA integrations. Ideal applicants will demonstrate a strong background in scripted automation, security in cleared environments, and cross-platform development on Windows/UNIX/Linux.

Qualifications

• Fourteen years in software development/engineering: requirements analysis, development, installation, integration, testing, maintenance.
• Ten years in system engineering/architecture.
• Ten years with distributed computing/storage technologies (HBase, Hadoop, Accumulo, Cassandra, etc.).
• Ten years writing scripts in Perl, Python, or Ruby for automation.
• Ten years in large Cloud Systems ( >200 nodes) with certification.
• Experience delivering hardware/software system integration and testing.
• Ten years in a cleared environment.
• Ten years developing for Windows/UNIX/Linux.
• Experience with distributed storage routing and querying algorithms.
• Experience creating documentation for technical issues and training.

Responsibilities

• Develop, engineer, interface, integrate, and test complete hardware/software systems.
• Provide technical direction and improve organizational processes.
• Monitor system health and perform postmortem/failure analysis and incident management.
• Develop software using object-oriented languages (e.g., Java, Python).
• Wrap legacy components as Web Services within a SOA framework.

Required Qualifications:

Shall have Fourteen (14) years experience in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution.

Shall have ten (10) years experience in system engineering/architecture.

Z

Shall have ten (10) years experience working with products that support highly distributed, massively parallel computation needs such as Hbase, Hadoop, CloudBase/Acumulo, Big Table, Cassandra, Scality etc.

Z

At least ten (10) years experience writing software scripts using scripting languages such as Perl, Python, or Ruby for software automation

Z

At least four (4) years experience managing and monitoring large Cloud System (>200 nodes). Cloud Systems Administrator or Developer Certification.

Z

Experience in performing and providing technical direction for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of complete hardware/software systems to include monitoring technical health of a system, improving organizational processes, implementation of postmortem (failure) analysis and incident management.

Shall have ten (10) years experience in the cleared environment.

Z

Ten (10) years demonstrated experience developing software for one of the following: Windows, UNIX, or Linux OS.

Knowledge and experience with developing distributed storage routing and querying algorithms.

Experience in developing documentation required to support a program’s technical issues and training situations

Ten (10) year of experience developing software systems using object-oriented programming languages (i.e. Java, Python, etc.).

Experience developing solutions integrating and extending COTS products.

Experience “wrapping” legacy systems or components as Web Services within a SOA framework.

Demonstrated knowledge of analytical needs and requirements, query syntax, data flows, and traffic manipulation.

Education:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in a related technical field is highly desired which will be considered equivalent to two (2) years experience. A Master’s degree in a Technical Field will be considered equivalent to four (4) years experience.

NOTE: A degree in Communications, Computer Science, Mathematics, Accounting, Information Systems, Program Management, or similar degree will be considered as a technical field.
