Job summary
General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) seeks a Senior Cloud System Administrator / Integrator to lead cloud integration and system administration across Army cloud strategies. You will design hybrid architectures integrating on-prem systems, tactical edges, and cloud platforms such as Azure Government and OCI, and you will implement secure CI/CD pipelines and IaC.
Require DoD 8140/IAT II and foundational cloud certs, with advanced certifications highly valued.
Qualifications
- DoD 8140/IAT Level II certification or equivalent security credentials.
- Foundational cloud certification required (AWS Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals, OCI Foundations).
- Security-focused and platform certifications highly valued (CKA, CISSP, SCA).
Responsibilities
- Lead cloud integration and system administration across on-prem, tactical, and cloud environments.
- Design hybrid architectures integrating on-prem Army systems, tactical edge, and cloud platforms.
- Administer workloads in Azure and OCI including VMs, storage, networking, and IAM.
- Implement DevSecOps pipelines and IaC with Terraform/ARM/OCI Resource Manager.
- Ensure RMF, STIGs, and DoD Cloud SRG compliance across IL2–IL6.

You will leadcloud integration and system administrationefforts across on-prem, tactical, and cloud-hosted environments, ensuring secure, scalable, and mission-ready architectures aligned withArmy and DoD cloud strategies, including AC2SP/ALTESS and relevant DoD cloud initiatives.
- DoD 8140 / IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+, CySA+, or GSEC).

- Supportcross-domain and multi-security-level integrationsinvolving data flows between tactical, on-prem, and cloud environments
- Monitorcloud system health, performance, and availabilityusing cloud-native observability tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, OCI Monitoring, CloudWatch if applicable)
- Troubleshootintegration issues across multi-vendor and multi-cloud ecosystemsin real time, ensuring mission continuity and resilience
- Serve astechnical lead for cloud integration and system administrationacross AC2SP, Azure, OCI, and related cloud environments supporting Army missions.
- Develop and maintaincloud system architecture artifacts, including:
- Cloud reference architectures
- Data flow diagrams
- Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
- Lead integration ofgeospatial platforms (e.g., ArcGIS Enterprise)into cloud-hosted and hybrid environments, ensuring secure access and optimized performance.
- Configure and manage:
- Virtual machines, containers, and platform services in Azure/OCI
- Identity and Access Management (IAM) in Azure AD and OCI, including:
- Role-based access control (RBAC)
- Conditional access and security policies
- Networking in the cloud:
- VNets, subnets, NSGs, gateways
- Hybrid connectivity (VPN, ExpressRoute, FastConnect)
- Supportcloud landing zoneimplementation and sustainment for Army and DoD environments.
- Implementautomation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)using tools such as:
- Terraform
- Azure Resource Manager (ARM templates)
- OCI Resource Manager (Terraform-based)
- ApplyPowerShell and REST API integrationsfor:
- Cloud resource orchestration
- Diagnostics and remediation
- Automated governance and compliance checks
- Ensure compliance with:
- Risk Management Framework (RMF)
- DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
- DoD Cloud SRG (Impact Levels IL2–IL6)
- Provide technical input forAC2SP and Army cloud migration planning and execution, including assessments of readiness, risk, and performance.
- Deliverexecutive-level updateson cloud integration progress, risks, and system readiness.
- Operate effectively undertime-sensitive conditions, providingexecutive-ready briefings, updates, and status reportsto leadership and stakeholders.
Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
Years of Experience: 10+ years of experience in systems administrator, engineering, and integration supporting large-scale system sustainability. 5+ years of related DoD, Military, or US Government related experience.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise incloud system administration and integrationfor mission-critical environments, preferably Army/DoD.
- Knowledge ofsecure DevSecOps principlesand CI/CD pipelines supporting rapid, secure capability deployment in cloud environments.
- Hands-on experience building, administering, and securing workloads in:
- Microsoft Azure (Azure Government strongly preferred)
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
- AC2SP or similar DoD cloud initiatives
- Strong scripting expertise, including:
- PowerShell
- Bash/Python (for multi-platform and automation tasks)
- Experience integrating automation with:
- Cloud APIs (Azure, OCI, AWS where applicable)
- Monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, OCI Monitoring, SIEM platforms)
- Configuration management systems (e.g., Ansible, DSC, SCCM)
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Knowledge of secure DevSecOps principles and CI/CD pipelines supporting rapid capability deployment.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and secure DevSecOps practices.
- Strong scripting expertise.
