Job summary

GDIT is seeking a Network Engineer Cloud SME to guide modernization, migration, and sustainment of mission critical DoD IT environments. You will serve as the enterprise technical authority on cloud, network, and security topics, influencing major DLA initiatives across multiple platforms.

You will lead senior teams, shape enterprise standards, and provide strategic recommendations at the executive level, while collaborating with CSPs and application teams in a hybrid, on-site setting in VA.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of related experience in IT and DoD environments.
• US citizenship required.
• Active DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level III certification (CASP+ CE, CISSP, CCNP Security, GCED, GCIH, CISA).
• Cisco CCNP Enterprise (CCNP E).
• Check Point CCSA.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on expertise with Azure, AWS, OCI, and GCP.
• Deep knowledge of DoD cloud frameworks (SCCA, VDMS, VDSS).
• Strong enterprise routing/switching/data center experience.
• Advanced F5 ADC proficiency.
• Experience with DISA Storefront/CAP provisioning.
• Strong understanding of STIG/SRG, Zero Trust, and executive level documentation.

Responsibilities

• Manage Cloud Access Point (CAP) lifecycle and coordinate DISA Storefront provisioning.
• Engineer secure connectivity between DoD systems, SCCA, and CSPs.
• Design “break and inspect” architectures aligned with DISA cloud security requirements.
• Advance Zero Trust initiatives and ensure STIG/SRG compliance.
• Provide Tier 3/4 support for F5 ADCs (LTM, GTM/DNS, APM).
• Support enterprise routing, switching, and data center technologies (IPv6, BGP, MPLS/LDP).
• Develop engineering diagrams, network maps, configurations, and sustainment documentation.
• Communicate highly complex technical concepts clearly to executive stakeholders.

The likely salary range for this position is $127,500 - $172,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
