Job summary

Google is seeking a Staff Security Engineer Manager for Enterprise Security Cloud to lead a team securing Google's multi-cloud infrastructure and enabling secure cloud programs across Cloud and Acquisitions teams.

The role involves defining security controls, uplift strategies, and collaborating with Privacy, Safety, Security, and product teams to ensure consistent enforcement while balancing developer velocity with risk mitigation. Eligible US-based employees receive comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security and security protocols.
• 8 years of experience with security assessments or security design reviews or threat modeling.
• 3 years of experience leading teams in a technical capacity or leading technical risk analysis in an enterprise environment.
• Experience in people management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing team of engineers focused on securing Alphabet’s multi-cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud Platform, Cloud Computing Platform), providing clear goal and strategic direction to drive high-impact outcomes.
• Work with Team Leads to define and implement the strategy for cloud security controls including building new controls and approaches alongside enforcing them, well-lit paths, and baseline standards that balance developer velocity with security risk mitigation.
• Drive alignment by partnering within Privacy, Safety, and Security and across and Cloud (Cloud CISO and Product teams) to ensure consistent enforcement of security controls.
• Oversee proactive uplift strategies to continuously enhance security controls across cloud initiatives and ensure alignment with evolving standards.
