Job summary

Booz Allen Hamilton seeks a security engineer to design cloud-based security architectures for critical systems in Reston, VA. You will ensure compliance with information assurance requirements and lead documentation efforts across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments.

Responsibilities include evaluating tools, defining risk thresholds, and advising executives on doctrine implementation. A TS/SCI clearance is required; polygraph may be needed. Compensation ranges from $99k to $225k annually.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience building and administering cloud environments.
• Experience developing security documentation including system security plans and contingency plans.
• Experience with RMF guidance, evaluations, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Agile development environments.
• Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code concepts (Terraform, CloudFormation, or Bicep).
• Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph.
• Degree plus experience as specified; DoD 8570 IAT III and DoD 8570 CSPI infra certs achievable within 30 days.

Job Overview

Everyone is trying to “harness the cloud”, but not everyone knows how to secure it. As a security engineer at Booz Allen, you will develop cloud-based security architectures for the Intelligence Community’s most critical systems, located in Reston, Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and support documentation, validation, assessment, and accreditation processes to ensure IT systems meet Information Assurance and security requirements.
• Assist in defining desired state and risk thresholds and analyze actual state information to assess compliance.
• Advise leaders on codifying strategic objectives into doctrine and procedures to meet objectives.
• Evaluate computer applications, software, or specialized utility programs to determine if software assurance best practices are followed.
• Recommend tools and capabilities based on research of the current environment and knowledge of on-premises, cloud-based, and hybrid resources.
• Implement cloud security architectures, tools, and processes that were defined.
• Work with IC clients to ensure standards are met with security requirements.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience building and administering cloud environments, utilizing cloud-native functionality, COTS, GOTS, and open-source tools.
• Experience developing and evaluating security documentation including system security plans, contingency plans, security procedures, and continuity of operations plans.
• Experience with security architecture evaluations, guidance development, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code concepts such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Bicep.
• Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam.
• Degree and experience combination as stated (Associate 10+ yrs, Bachelor 8+ yrs, Master 6+ yrs).
• Ability to obtain DoD 8570 IAT Level III Certification within 30 days of start date.
• Ability to obtain DoD 8570 Cybersecurity Service Provider – Infrastructure Support Certification within 30 days of start date.

Clearance

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Compensation

Projected annual compensation range: $99,000.00 to $225,000.00.
