Job summary

Lumen is hiring a Cloud Security Engineer to design, implement, and support cloud and enterprise security solutions across MFA, endpoint, email, and DLP. The role focuses on safeguarding critical infrastructure and data while collaborating with Cybersecurity Engineering in a remote, US-wide capacity.

You'll work across MFA, Endpoint Security, Email Security, and DLP, ensuring secure cloud environments and providing operational support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information/Cyber Security, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Experience in cloud security (MFA, DLP, Email Security, Endpoint Security).
  • Ability to obtain Government Suitability clearance.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Responsibilities

The Role

As an Cloud Security Engineer, you'll play a critical role in protecting the technologies that power those connections while helping shape the future of enterprise security.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated security professional to join our collaborative Cybersecurity Engineering team. In this role, you will design, implement, and support cloud and enterprise security solutions that safeguard critical infrastructure, applications, and data. You'll have the opportunity to work across key security domains including Multifactor Authentication (MFA), Endpoint Security, Email Security, and Data Loss Prevention (DLP), while partnering with experienced professionals who are passionate about continuous learning, innovation, and operational excellence.

Location

This is a remote position open to candidates based anywhere in the U.S.

The Main Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and manage security solutions for cloud environments.

  • Monitor and respond to security incidents and alerts in the cloud.

  • Conduct security assessments and vulnerability scans of cloud infrastructure.

  • Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation for cloud security.

  • Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure comprehensive security measures are in place.

  • Provide technical guidance and support to other team members.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies related to cloud security.

  • Provide operational engineering support for Multifactor Authentication, Endpoint Security, Email Security and Data Loss Prevention as needed.

What We Look For in a Candidate
  • Bachelor's degree in Information/Cyber Security, Computer Science, related field, or relevant experience.

  • Experience in cloud security and knowledge of MFA, DLP, Email Security as well as Endpoint Security.

  • Candidate must be able to obtain Government Suitability.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

  • Experience with security tools and technologies such as SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and antivirus software.

  • Possess or be willing to pursue relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Security

  • Engineer Associate, or equivalent are preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MicrosoftorUNIX(includingLinuxor otherUNIXderivatives)operating system administration/support experience.

  • Experience in engineering security controls within multi-cloud architectures (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).

  • Development experience inscripting languagessuch asPython, Perl or PowerShell.

  • Candidate must possess or be willing to pursue applicable professional/technical certifications such as CCSP.

  • Experience in large enterprise or carrierdata centersand/or networks.

Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

Location Based Pay Ranges

$67,703 - $90,270 in these states: AL AR AZ FL GA IA ID IN KS KY LA ME MO MS MT ND NE NM OH OK PA SC SD TN UT VT WI WV WY

$71,088 - $94,784 in these states: CO HI MI MN NC NH NV OR RI

$74,474 - $99,297 in these states: AK CA CT DC DE IL MA MD NJ NY TX VA WA
