Base pay range

The Role:

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Security Engineer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who combines deep technical knowledge of cloud platforms with a strong understanding of security principles. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in secure cloud architecture—particularly in Azure and AWS—and a passion for implementing robust, automated, and compliant infrastructure that supports enterprise security goals.

Responsibilities Include:

• Design and implement secure cloud infrastructure solutions across Azure, AWS and GCP environments
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, with a focus on embedding security controls
• Partner with development and DevOps teams to build secure CI/CD pipelines
• Integrate security best practices into automated deployment processes
• Assess cloud environments for compliance with security frameworks (e.g., CIS benchmarks, NIST, HITRUST) and implement remediations
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to align security implementations with business risk and compliance requirements
• Conduct cloud security assessments and provide recommendations for improving posture
• Monitor and respond to infrastructure security incidents
• Act as a trusted advisor for cloud security strategy and risk-based decision-making

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering or security engineering roles
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, including native security tools
• Strong proficiency in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for secure resource provisioning
• Experience implementing and automating security controls in CI/CD pipelines
• General purpose scripting and programming
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and Agile methodologies
• Deep understanding of cloud security concepts: identity and access management (IAM), encryption, networking, workload protection, etc.
• Experience with compliance and regulatory frameworks (e.g., HITRUST, HIPAA, SOC 2, NIST)
• Security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or cloud provider certifications (e.g., Azure Security Engineer, AWS Security Specialty, GCP Security Engineer)
• Strong communication skills and ability to contextualize security within broader business objectives.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience with HITRUST certification or assessments
• Familiarity with cloud-native security solutions like Azure Defender, GCP Security Command Center
• Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for security automation
• Knowledge of container security (Kubernetes, image scanning, runtime protection)
• Prior consulting experience or experience supporting external clients
• Familiarity with Security Operations roles and processes

• You’re equally comfortable in a CLI and a client-facing conversation about enterprise risk

• You’re energized by ambiguity and enjoy crafting solutions in complex environments
