Job summary

Booz Allen Hamilton seeks a Cloud Security Architect to design secure, cloud-based, mission-critical systems for Air Force programs. You will lead RMF/NIST assessments, implement security controls, and guide DevSecOps pipelines across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid resources.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years evaluating system compliance using RMF or NIST and DevSecOps tools.
  • Experience deploying government-approved cybersecurity tools and methods.
  • Experience with automated security scanning and DevSecOps pipelines in GitLab.
  • Experience hardening systems, securing cloud deployments, and preventing credential exposure.
  • Ability to architect network/data flows and document PPSM.
  • Experience evaluating cloud services to improve efficiency.
  • Proficient in IaC with AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.
  • Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in CS or Cybersecurity; DoD 8570/8140 IAT II certs.

Cloud Security Engineer The Opportunity: Everyone is trying to harness the cloud, but not everyone knows how to secure it. As a cloud security architect, you know how to assess and implement requirements that ensure the safety of information systems and protect them against intentional or inadvertent access or destruction. We need you to guide the development of cloud-based security architectures for some of the Air Force's most critical systems. As a Cloud Security Architect on our team, you’ll design and implement a secure cloud-based, mission-critical system. You’ll recommend tools and capabilities based on your research of the current environment and knowledge of various on-premises, cloud-based, and hybrid resources to address risk management framework (RMF). Your technical expertise will be vital as you work with the Air Force to ensure standards are met with information assurance and security requirements. You Have:
  • 3+ years of experience evaluating the compliance of a system using RMF or NIST and DevSecOps tools and methodologies
  • Experience deploying, configuring, or maintaining a government-approved security suite of cybersecurity tools and methods
  • Experience with Automated Security Scanning and Compliance, including managing DevSecOps pipelines within GitLab, utilizing automated scanning tools, such as SonarQube, OWASP ZAP, Trivy, or KICS or Checkmarx, for SAST/DAST and infrastructure compliance
  • Experience with System Hardening and Secrets Management, including securing cloud-deployable systems and container images by identifying vulnerabilities and preventing credential exposure
  • Experience in architecting network and data flow diagrams, compiling hardware and software bodies of evidence, and documenting Ports, Protocols, and Services (PPSM)
  • Experience with evaluating and recommending cloud services, tools, and technologies to improve efficiency and enhance system capabilities to government organizations
  • Experience writing in IaC tools such as AWS CloudFormation or Terraform, to streamline deployments, provisioning, and configuration management
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science or Cybersecurity field
  • DoD 8570/8140 IAT II Certification, such as CompTIA Security+ certification

  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
  • Experience using Confluence or Jira, Intermediate-level Cloud Computing Certification such as Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), Certified AWS Solutions Architect, or DevOps Engineer Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
