About the opportunity

Dayforce is seeking a talented and passionate Principal Cloud Security Architect to join our growing Cloud team. This is a fully remote position, and we welcome candidates from anywhere in the United States or Canada.

You will play a vital role in designing, implementing, and managing security for our cloud infrastructure and applications. You'll leverage your deep understanding of security best practices, cloud-native technologies, and Azure services to ensure a secure and compliant environment for our industry-leading HCM platform. What you'll get to do

• Architect: Develop and promote secure cloud architectures for application development teams. Create and maintain comprehensive security architecture diagrams and documentation.
• Design: Design and implement security controls for cloud solutions that prioritize confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
• Secure: Implement and manage security tools and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
• Collaborate: Partner with product managers, architects, and engineers to ensure security is integrated into all phases of the software development lifecycle.
• Innovate: Research and recommend new cloud security technologies and best practices. Contribute to improving our security posture and maintaining a competitive edge.
• Experiment: Conduct proof-of-concept (POC) evaluations of new security technologies and solutions to assess their suitability and effectiveness within our environment.

Skills and experience we value

• University degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
• Security Expertise: 5+ years of experience in Cloud Security Architecture, with hands-on expertise in securing Azure environments.
• Cloud Fundamentals: Strong understanding of cloud-native security principles and Azure security services.
• Security Focus: Experience with implementing and managing security controls, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and SIEM solutions.
• Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with security frameworks and regulations, such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR.
• Automation Proficiency: Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like ARM templates, Terraform, PowerShell, and CLI for automating security tasks.
• DevSecOps Mindset: Familiarity with integrating security into CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
• Collaboration and Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience with Zero Trust security models.
• Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, Azure Security Engineer).
