Job summary

HashiCorp, an IBM Company, is seeking a senior Cloud Security Engineer in Boston to design and build scalable security capabilities across cloud environments, enabling teams to move quickly while managing cloud risk.

You will lead security architecture across AWS, Azure, GCP, and IaC, and mentor engineers in secure infrastructure design, automation with Go and Python, and Terraform-based guardrails.

Qualifications

• Senior Cloud Security Engineer with strong software and infrastructure engineering background.
• Experience designing and implementing cloud security controls and guardrails.
• Proficiency with Go, Python, and Terraform or similar IaC tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of cloud security architecture and engineering solutions across AWS, Azure, GCP, and other cloud environments.
• Architect and build production-quality security tooling and automation using Go/Golang and Python.
• Design preventative security controls and automated guardrails using Terraform and Iac, enabling secure‑by‑default cloud deployments.
• Establish scalable security patterns across IAM, cloud networking, workload identity, containers/Kubernetes, secrets management, PKI, and workload protection.
• Integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure provisioning, and developer workflows.
• Provide technical leadership for complex cloud security initiatives from architecture through implementation.
• Identify systemic cloud security risks and translate them into reusable engineering patterns, automations, detections, and preventative controls.
