Job summary

Futrend Technology Inc. in Bethesda, MD is seeking an IT Cloud Security Analyst to join our security compliance team. You will work with the ISSO to implement security controls and ensure federal compliance for cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).

The role focuses on securing NIH-mandated infrastructure across hybrid environments, with on-site presence 3 to 5 days per week and close collaboration with security, operations and development teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience securing cloud environments (AWS, GCP or Azure) within FISMA compliance frameworks.
• Strong working knowledge of cloud security, logging, tagging strategies, and cross-platform operations.
• Familiarity with federal compliance frameworks (FISMA, NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, RMF, NIH policy) and system authorization processes (ATO, POA&M).
• Hands-on automation, security event correlation, scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python) and APIs.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information technology, or related field; 5+ years in information security with 3+ years in cloud security.

Responsibilities

• Implement security controls and ensure compliant cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) for NIH/FISMA requirements.
• Design and support cloud security services including IAM, privileged access, vulnerability management, configuration compliance, encryption, and log management.
• Monitor cloud environments for security events and configuration drift using SIEM (Splunk) and track remediation with metrics.
• Integrate and optimize security solutions (Splunk, Tenable) for continuous monitoring and compliance visibility.
• Respond to incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and follow NIH incident response plan.
