Job summary

Uber is seeking a Software Engineer on the Data and Storage teams to architect foundational infrastructure powering decisions and core services for millions of users. You will scale distributed storage platforms and build high-performance data pipelines with low latency and high correctness.

You will own end-to-end delivery, monitor systems, and collaborate across teams. Some roles may telecommute; offices remain key to collaboration with at least 50% in-office presence where required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics, or related field.
• Proficiency in C++, Python, Java; experience with SQL or MySQL.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, cloud computing, and software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test software applications.
• Design, develop, and/or test software applications using company technology stack.
• Apply technical knowledge to evaluate complex data, developments, and projects to provide actionable recommendations.
• Support the company's business operations and improve engineering productivity.
• Build software components that can be integrated into a full system.
• Resolve production issues focusing on reliability and scalability.
• Leverage public cloud offerings in solutions.
