This is an opportunity to lead a Professional Services (Field Engineering) team, assisting customers with implementing Canonical's open source solutions across public clouds and data centers. The role involves working with technologies such as Ubuntu, virtualization, private cloud, Kubernetes, MLops platforms, and data platforms. As the company expands into new industries like telco, finance, healthcare, and media, we develop new open source solutions to meet diverse needs.
We believe Engineering Managers should be outstanding engineers, capable of troubleshooting, technical presales, and contributing to project delivery. They should also focus on shaping team direction, focus, and growth, fostering management skills and soft skills in engineers.
The role involves managing a team of cloud solutions architects working directly with customers to design private and public cloud solutions, including Openstack, MicroCloud, Ceph, Kubernetes, Kubeflow, Spark, and PostgreSQL. Managers are responsible for line management, career guidance, technical representation, collaboration, and active participation in presales.
