Job summary

Emerson in Austin, TX seeks a Cloud Platform Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and optimize cloud-native infrastructure that powers Emerson’s digital transformation. You will join a global, collaborative team delivering scalable systems and secure operations.

You’ll work with Kubernetes, Docker, and IaC tools in an Agile environment, participate in architecture and cyber-security reviews, and drive initiatives across the organization to maximize reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or STEM field
• 5+ years of experience with large-scale infrastructure systems in production
• Proficiency in Go, Python, Bash, C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript
• Kubernetes and Docker experience
• Terraform or similar IaC tooling
• Experience in Agile environments
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future

You will be based inAustin, TX, and will work alongside a collaborative global team to design, build, and optimize infrastructure that enables Emerson’s digital transformation.

IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:

• Build, optimize, and manage cloud-native systems such as Kubernetes clusters and cloud resources
• Document, maintain, improve, and validate work products
• Participate in agile development process as part of a scrum team including planning, retrospectives, and continuous improvement
• Coordinate and participate in cyber-security reviews
• Coordinate and participate in architecture reviews
• Work with global team to execute project initiatives

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or any STEM-related degree
• 5+ years of experience with large-scale infrastructure systems in a production environment
• Proficiency in modern programming and scripting languages such as Go, Python, Bash, C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or others.
• Proficiency with Kubernetes (cluster lifecycle, networking, upgrades) and containerization technologies like Docker.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
• Experience working within an Agile development framework.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:

• Advanced training in cloud services and configuration management (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Strong understanding of network architecture and security protocols.
• Experience optimizing performance and scalability in infrastructure systems.
• Knowledgeable in service discovery and load-balancing technologies.
• Experience with GitOps tools, such as Argo CD or Flux.
• Proficiency in DevSecOps CI/CD automation environments.
• Expertise in backup and disaster recovery strategies within a cloud setting.
• Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
