Job summary

NetApp is seeking a Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable cloud-based platforms and services. This role blends software development with reliability, automation, and observability to support internal and external customers across cloud infrastructures.

The engineer will work with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to develop software, tooling, and scalable platforms, ensuring high availability, performance, and cost efficiency in AWS and containerized environments.

Qualifications

• Experience in software engineering, cloud platform engineering, site reliability engineering, or a related field.
• Strong programming or scripting skills (Python, Shell) with automation focus.
• Experience developing and supporting distributed or cloud-based applications.
• Solid Linux (RHEL/CentOS) administration and troubleshooting.
• Experience with containerization/orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery.
• Experience with observability/monitoring tools (Dynatrace, Grafana).
• Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with public cloud platforms, preferably AWS.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software components for cloud platforms.
• Translate requirements into technical specifications and scalable solutions.
• Build scalable distributed systems and platform services in cloud environments.
• Develop automation/infrastructure tooling for deployments and workflows.
• Implement and maintain containerized workloads and Kubernetes environments.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines enabling automated delivery and updates.
• Implement monitoring/logging/observability for system reliability.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and product teams to improve platform capabilities.
