Job summary

Pacific Life is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer II to build and evolve cloud platform capabilities supporting our Unified Cloud strategy. You will automate, design, and implement scalable services across AWS, Azure, and private clouds.

The role focuses on infrastructure as code, platform modernization, and AI-enabled engineering, with emphasis on governance, security, and operational excellence. 5+ years in related roles is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, platform engineering, or related tech roles.
• Foundational knowledge of AWS cloud services.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code concepts and tools such as Terraform.
• Experience with scripting or automation using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar.
• Understanding of source control concepts and tools such as Git.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to development and enhancement of enterprise cloud platform capabilities across AWS, Azure, and private cloud environments.
• Assist in design and implementation of cloud foundations, landing zone components, shared services, and platform standards.
• Support the creation of reusable engineering patterns enabling safe, efficient consumption of cloud services.
• Participate in platform modernization initiatives supporting the Unified Cloud strategy.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform and related tooling.
• Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort through automation and self-service capabilities.
