Job summary

Phoenix Operations Group in Bethesda, MD is seeking a hands-on Cloud Platform Engineer to advance mission-oriented cloud, data, and AI-capable systems. You will deploy, configure, test, secure, and operate integrated cloud capabilities across Linux-based environments, containerized apps, and IaC pipelines, collaborating with data, security, and application teams.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with cloud platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, and platform operations.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and release support using common tools.
• Experience configuring, testing, troubleshooting, or operating cloud environments.
• Proficiency with Linux-based systems administration and hardening practices.
• Familiarity with secure software delivery, DevSecOps, and integrated development environments.
• Knowledge of containerization, orchestration, automation, and IaC concepts.
• Ability to collaborate across platform, data, security, and application teams.

Responsibilities

• Support cloud platform engineering, deployment, configuration, and testing activities.
• Build, maintain, or support CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
• Support DevOps/DevSecOps across development, test, and operations environments.
• Assist with deployment automation, environment configuration, and release support.
• Work with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and related tools for containerized environments.
• Implement or maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Install, configure, and harden Linux-based and cloud infrastructure services.
• Collaborate with data engineers, security, and application teams to operationalize capabilities.
• Troubleshoot cloud platform, deployment, pipeline, and networking issues to maintain reliability.
