Job description

Description: Our direct end client is looking for a cloud platform engineer for a 12+ month contract. Position is 100% remote.

Logistics:

1. Type: Contract
2. Location: Remote, if closer to Lacrosse a bonus
3. Rate: $80-95 w2

Position Overview:
As a Cloud Engineer II, you will play a key role in the design, implementation, and support of public cloud infrastructure. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams and independently to ensure the operation of cloud environments.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist in the design, implementation, security, and administration of our public cloud environments in Azure and GCP.
2. Lead the management, configuration, and monitoring of cloud infrastructure and resources.
3. Partner with the .NET Development teams to architect secure, scalable cloud solutions and deploy infrastructure to support application builds.
4. Deploy and maintain cloud resources using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies.
5. Analyze existing software workloads and define technical migration roadmaps for ongoing projects.
6. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to cloud services.

Team/Department: Cloud Team. It is 2 people currently, overloaded and need high level skills to come in and add value.

Required Experience:

1. At least 4 years of relevant experience, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS).
2. A Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Network Systems Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
3. Hands-on experience in designing, developing, and operating cloud-based services, APIs, microservices, replication, and distributed databases.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Azure Security, including firewalls (Front Doors and App Gateways), log analytics, key vaults, and network security groups.
5. Expertise in Azure services, such as Web Apps, Application Insights, Virtual Machines, Service Bus, and more.
6. Experience with Azure Storage and Databricks solutions.
7. Strong knowledge of Azure Networking services like VNETs, VPNs, VWAN, and ExpressRoute.

Bonus Points for:

1. Microsoft Certifications (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400 and AZ-500) are highly preferred.
2. Experience with Terraform and Terraform Cloud.
3. Familiarity with Containers or Kubernetes.
4. Knowledge of Linux operating systems (e.g., RedHat, SUSE, Ubuntu).
5. On-prem virtualization experience with Nutanix or VMWare.
