Job summary

Clera is building a cloud data platform that turns clinical, genomic, imaging, and other biomedical data into model-ready assets. You’ll join a cross-functional team handling platform engineering, data infrastructure, and bioinformatics workflows to support internal teams and external partners.

The role emphasizes production AWS/GCP environments, Kubernetes, Terraform, and scalable pipelines with a focus on reliability, security, and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of platform, infrastructure, or site reliability engineering experience.
• Deep AWS or GCP experience with production Kubernetes.
• Production programming in Python or Go.
• Experience designing CI/CD pipelines and deployment systems.
• Experience building job orchestration for distributed workloads.
• Familiarity with biological/clinical data pipelines; Nextflow or similar workflow managers is a plus.
• Knowledge of data catalogs, lakehouse/warehouse design, Docker, and cloud batch compute is relevant.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate cloud data infrastructure including storage, lakehouse, catalogs and access layers.
• Design and maintain governed data warehouses for clinical records and metadata.
• Develop reproducible omics pipelines (WGS, RNA, proteomics) with containerized workflows.
• Implement data quality checks and biological validation across processing steps.
• Prepare training-ready dataset releases and data deployment interfaces for models.
• Operate production cloud infra, Kubernetes clusters, CI/CD, and distributed workload orchestration with reliability and cost awareness.
