Job summary

Tripoint Solutions seeks a Cloud Engineer to build, operate, and automate AWS GovCloud infrastructure for a federal education program. You’ll work with the cloud team, Salesforce, and data teams to keep environments secure, available, and compliant.

The role focuses on provisioning, securing, and integrating cloud services, with emphasis on automation using Python and CI/CD pipelines. Remote work is supported.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in CS/Engineering/IT or related field.
• 5+ years of cloud engineering or operations experience.
• Hands-on AWS GovCloud experience.
• Hands-on AWS across compute, storage, networking, and identity (VPC, subnets, routing, Route 53, VPN/Direct Connect).
• Experience integrating AWS with Salesforce and MuleSoft; hands-on AWS Glue experience.
• Proficiency with IAM, KMS, least-privilege access; Linux admin; Python automation; CI/CD with GitHub Actions/Jenkins.
• Cloud security knowledge and ability to implement STIGs and vulnerability scanning.

Responsibilities

• Provision, configure, and operate AWS GovCloud infrastructure (EC2, S3, EBS, RDS, VPCs, subnets, security groups, Route 53).
• Integrate AWS with Salesforce and MuleSoft interfaces; maintain Glue pipelines.
• Enforce security with least-privilege access, encryption, and network isolation.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated security scanning; support ATO activities and vulnerability remediation.
• Automate deployment runbooks, rollback procedures, and high-availability controls.

As a Cloud Engineer

You will build, operate, and automate AWS GovCloud infrastructure for a federal education program. You will work within the cloud team's architecture and alongside the Salesforce, integration, and data teams to keep environments secure, available, and compliant.

The selected candidate must be currently located in, or willing to relocate to, one of the states supported by Tripoint Solutions corporate offices: No relocation assistance provided.

Responsibilities

• Provision, configure, and operate AWS GovCloud infrastructure, including EC2, S3, EBS, RDS, VPCs, subnets, security groups, and Route 53.
• Build and support integrations between AWS and Salesforce, including MuleSoft-based interfaces.
• Build and maintain AWS Glue pipelines that move data securely between source systems.
• Implement S3 lifecycle, tiering, and retention policies.
• Secure RDS and other data services with least-privilege access, encryption, and network isolation.
• Implement and maintain IAM policies, KMS key management, and secrets management.
• Build automated security scanning, dependency validation, and continuous monitoring into CI/CD pipelines.
• Support STIG implementation, Risk Management Framework and Authority to Operate activities, and vulnerability remediation on contractual timelines.
• Maintain deployment runbooks, rollback procedures, and change control artifacts that support high-availability standards.
• Automate operational work using Python.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering or operations.
• Hands-on AWS GovCloud experience.
• Hands-on AWS experience across compute, storage, networking, and identity, including VPC design, subnetting, routing, peering, Route 53, load balancing, and VPN or Direct Connect.
• Experience integrating AWS with Salesforce, and hands-on MuleSoft experience.
• Hands-on AWS Glue experience.
• Proficiency with IAM policy design, KMS, and least-privilege access models.
• Linux system administration.
• Proficiency in Python for automation and scripting.
• Hands-on CI/CD pipeline experience using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of cloud security principles and hardening practices.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional) or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator.
• Salesforce or MuleSoft certification.
• Risk Management Framework, ATO support, STIG implementation, or vulnerability scanning with ACAS or Nessus.
• Monitoring and observability with CloudWatch or Splunk.
• Prior federal contract experience.
