Job summary

Amerisure is seeking a Cloud Operations Analyst II to support hybrid work with a 3‑day onsite presence at the Farmington Hills office. You will optimize cloud and on‑prem infrastructure, build observability dashboards, and partner with DevOps, Networking, and Development teams to ensure reliable service.

You will implement monitoring, automate tasks with scripting, and collaborate with FinOps to manage costs while maintaining security and compliance across cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/OCI).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog or PagerDuty.
• Datadog Fundamentals and PagerDuty Administrator certifications preferred.
• 3+ years in cloud operations or server management roles.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or OCI and security best practices.
• Scripting skills: Python, Bash, PowerShell.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain observability tools to monitor cloud and on‑prem systems.
• Create dashboards, alerts, and reports to track system health and availability.
• Analyze metrics/logs to prevent issues and optimize performance.
• Collaborate with FinOps to monitor resource utilization and costs.
• Manage lifecycle of cloud and on‑prem servers: provisioning, patching, config, decommissioning.
• Troubleshoot and resolve server issues to minimize downtime.
• Ensure security policies and compliance are enforced.
• Schedule and monitor batch processes for timely execution.
• Coordinate with vendors for hardware maintenance and upgrades.
• Maintain data center assets inventory and compliance.

Cloud Operations Analyst II

Amerisure is a leading property and casualty insurance company dedicated to protecting mid‑size commercial enterprises. We are hiring a Cloud Operations Analyst II to support a hybrid role with a 3‑day onsite presence in our Farmington Hills office.

Summary

Responsible for operating and enhancing the performance, availability, and reliability of cloud and on‑premises infrastructure. Consults on complex observability scenarios, streamlines server and batch operations, and supports critical business operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain observability tools to monitor cloud and on‑premises systems.
• Create dashboards, alerts, and reports to track system health, performance, and availability.
• Leverage observability tools to proactively identify opportunities, analyze metrics and logs to prevent issues, and optimize performance.
• Collaborate with FinOps teams to monitor resource utilization and ensure cost‑effective operations.
• Support the lifecycle of cloud and on‑premises servers, including provisioning, patching, configuration, and decommissioning.
• Troubleshoot and resolve server‑related issues to minimize downtime.
• Implement and enforce server security policies and compliance requirements.
• Schedule, monitor, and manage batch processes to ensure timely execution of critical tasks.
• Identify and resolve batch failures or delays, coordinate with teams, and optimize batch jobs.
• Manage on‑site and remote data center operations, ensuring proper functioning of hardware, power, cooling, and network infrastructure.
• Coordinate with vendors and service providers for hardware maintenance, replacements, and upgrades.
• Maintain accurate inventory of data center assets and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
• Participate in on‑call rotations to address system incidents and outages promptly.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis and implement preventive solutions.
• Document and communicate incident resolution processes to stakeholders.
• Work closely with DevOps, Networking, and Application Development teams to implement and maintain system integrations.
• Maintain and create comprehensive documentation for configurations, processes, and incident resolutions.
• Provide training and support to team members and other departments.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog or PagerDuty.
• Certified Datadog Fundamentals (or equivalent) required.
• Certified PagerDuty Administrator (or equivalent) required.
• 3+ years of experience in cloud operations or server management roles.
• Certified AWS SysOps Administrator (or equivalent) required.
• 3+ years of progressive server administration experience (Windows, Linux).
• 3+ years of experience designing, implementing, and managing IT workload automation solutions.
• Experience leveraging artificial intelligence to drive innovation and solve complex problems.
• 3+ years of work with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, OCI).
• Certified AWS Cloud Practitioner (or equivalent) required.
• Strong experience with data center infrastructure and best practices.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Strong understanding of networking and identity management in cloud environments.
• Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies.
• Excellent troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
