Job summary

Capital One seeks a Cloud Engineer to drive AI-enabled cloud initiatives and secure, scalable platform delivery. You will collaborate with product managers and architects to ship cloud-based solutions and mentor other engineers across Agile teams.

You will code in Java/Scala/Python/Go/Node.js, leverage Kubernetes, Docker, and a broad set of cloud tools, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements throughout development and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience (internships not counted).
• 2+ years of cloud engineering experience.
• Experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, OCI).
• 3+ years of CI/CD orchestration and infrastructure-as-code tooling (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi, Crossplane).
• Experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native patterns.
• Strong security and regulatory compliance awareness (SOX, OBL).

Responsibilities

• Lead the adoption of AI and automation to improve cloud scalability and reliability.
• Collaborate with product managers and architects to deliver cloud-based solutions.
• Mentor and guide a team of developers across Agile teams.
• Write and review code in Java/Scala/Python/Go/Node.js; use Docker and Kubernetes.
• Define service boundaries and reusable integration patterns with architects.
• Drive long-term technology strategy in a build-it-and-own-it environment.
