Amazon Data Services, Inc. in California's Santa Clara region is seeking a Software Engineer to help design and operate the stateful control-plane and distributed backend services that manage traffic across AWS data center fabrics.

Qualifications

3+ years of professional software development experience.
Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Rust, C++, Java, Go).
Experience building and operating distributed systems or backend services.
Solid grasp of CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, concurrency.

Responsibilities

Design and build the stateful control-plane software that applies intended network state across thousands of devices and guarantees they converge correctly and safely — including failure handling and rollback.
Own features end-to-end: requirements, design, implementation, code review, worldwide deployment, and operations.
Work with partner teams and customers to bring new algorithms and capabilities into production at scale.
