We are seeking a motivated Cloud Network Security Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the Defense Health Agency contract in a critical role on our Cyber Security Engineering & Design team.

You Will:

• Design, implement, and maintain secure cloud network solutions, evaluate emerging technologies, and provide technical leadership across a multi-vendor enterprise environment.
• Secure both cloud and on-premises infrastructure, support migrations, and ensure compliance with DoD security directives.
• Develop, engineer, and document technology solutions across multi-vendor platforms supporting enterprise security architecture, including Web Application Firewalls (WAF), Network Access Control (NAC), malware/zero-day detection, SSL decryption, packet brokers, machine learning behavioral analysis, application-aware firewalls, enterprise log analysis, and intrusion detection systems.
• Design, deploy, upgrade, and support security components in hybrid cloud networks, including firewalls, routers, VPN devices, load balancers, and WAFs.
• Configure and maintain cloud-native security components such as network security groups, security lists, and access control lists (ACLs).
• Leverage scripting and automation (Python, PowerShell, F5 rules) to streamline deployment and operations.
• Troubleshoot server performance, workload distribution, and component sizing in cloud environments.
• Support migration of applications to the cloud, ensuring security posture with firewalls, WAFs, and other devices.
• Provide expertise in TLS decryption and inspection.
• Collaborate with other SMEs and support team members.
• Participate in team meetings, develop documentation, and create educational materials.
• Contribute to business planning with technical recommendations.
• Adhere to policies and security directives, including FIPS 140-2.
• Share knowledge to improve team skills and pursue professional development.

You Have:

• U.S. Citizenship
• Active Top Secret DoD security clearance
• At least 10 years of network administration experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, F5, Fidelis, etc.
• Minimum 4 years working on enterprise networks
• At least 3 years of F5 experience (SSLO, ASM, C3D, LTM, GSLB)
• Experience with network automation frameworks (NetMiko, Napalm, Pandevice)
• Cloud management and security knowledge (IAM, Azure AD, AWS KMS, Azure Encryption)
• Cloud networking technologies (Transit Gateway, VPNs, Peering, ExpressRoute)
• Experience with cloud security tools (Azure Security Center, CloudWatch, etc.)
• API experience with network devices
• Cloud automation skills (Java, Jenkins, Python, PowerShell, DevOps, CloudFormation)
• LAN/WAN expertise in global infrastructure
• Experience with AWS, Azure private clouds
• Traffic analysis with TCPDump, Wireshark
• Experience deploying Office 365 in enterprise
• Knowledge of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls
• Understanding of SaaS and IaaS connectivity
• Experience with Cisco CSRv1000, Palo Alto virtual firewalls
• Network design and troubleshooting skills
• Strong communication skills

Certifications:

• IAT Level II certification; Security+ CE, CISSP, GICSP, GSEC, or SCCP
• Cisco CCNA or CCNP

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, or equivalent experience (5-7 years in network engineering)
