Job summary

Meduit is seeking a Cloud Network Engineer to design, implement, secure, and support enterprise networking across Microsoft Azure, AWS, on-premises data centers, and remote locations.

This role focuses on highly available, secure, scalable connectivity and modernization initiatives, working with IT Infrastructure, Cloud, Security, and Facilities to deliver reliable networking solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7+ years supporting enterprise network infrastructure, including cloud/hybrid.
  • CCNA certification or equivalent networking credentials.
  • Hands-on Microsoft Azure networking design/implementation.
  • Experience with AWS networking in enterprise environments.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS/DHCP, VPN, HA, and security.
  • Experience with IaC and network automation (Terraform, Bicep/ARM, CloudFormation, PowerShell, Python, Ansible).
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Infrastructure, Cloud, Security, and Facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support Azure networking solutions (hub-and-spoke, VNets, NSGs, ExpressRoute).
  • Design, implement, and support AWS networking (VPCs, SGs, NACLs, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect).
  • Develop secure, scalable hybrid connectivity across cloud and on-prem environments.
  • Configure and manage enterprise firewalls (Palo Alto, Cisco Secure Firewall, Fortinet).
  • Monitor network health, capacity, and performance; optimize reliability and efficiency.
  • Automate provisioning and operations using IaC and scripting; develop automation with Terraform, Bicep, ARM, CloudFormation.
  • Lead cloud migrations, upgrades, and disaster recovery readiness; participate in architecture reviews.
  • Coordinate with cloud providers, data centers, and partners; provide technical leadership.

About Us

We are seeking a Cloud Network Engineer to join our team. The Cloud Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and supporting enterprise network infrastructure across Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, on-premises data centers, corporate offices, and remote locations.

This role ensures highly available, secure, scalable connectivity across hybrid cloud and enterprise environments. The Cloud Network Engineer partners with Infrastructure, Cloud, Information Security, Application Development, End User Support, Facilities, vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable networking solutions and advance cloud migration and modernization initiatives.

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience designing hybrid cloud networks, troubleshooting complex enterprise environments, and implementing modern networking solutions through automation and Infrastructure as Code.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and support Microsoft Azure networking solutions, including hub-and-spoke architectures, virtual networks, network security groups, Azure Firewall, Application Gateway, ExpressRoute, Private Link, Azure DNS, load balancing, and virtual network peering.
  • Design, implement, and support AWS networking solutions, including Virtual Private Clouds, Security Groups, Network ACLs, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, site-to-site VPN, Elastic Load Balancing, Route 53, and associated routing services.
  • Develop secure, scalable, resilient, and highly available hybrid connectivity among Azure, AWS, corporate offices, remote users, and on-premises data centers.
  • Configure, administer, and support enterprise networking technologies, including Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switching, Cisco Meraki, enterprise routing platforms, wireless infrastructure, VPN technologies, load balancers, LAN, WAN, WLAN, and SD-WAN environments.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise firewalls, including Palo Alto, Cisco Secure Firewall, Fortinet, or comparable platforms.
  • Monitor network availability, health, performance, capacity, and utilization, and proactively identify opportunities to improve reliability and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues involving routing, switching, latency, packet loss, VPN connectivity, DNS, application access, firewall policies, and cloud connectivity.
  • Partner with Information Security to implement Zero Trust networking principles, network segmentation, secure remote access, firewall policies, and cloud security controls.
  • Design network solutions that support high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity requirements.
  • Automate network provisioning, configuration, and operational tasks using Infrastructure as Code, scripting, configuration management tools, and REST APIs.
  • Develop and maintain automation solutions using technologies such as Terraform, Azure Bicep, ARM templates, AWS CloudFormation, PowerShell, Python, and Ansible.
  • Establish standardized, repeatable deployment and configuration processes across cloud and on-premises network environments.
  • Lead or participate in cloud migrations, infrastructure upgrades, office deployments, disaster recovery testing, and enterprise modernization initiatives.
  • Coordinate with cloud providers, internet service providers, data center vendors, and third-party technology partners to implement services and resolve infrastructure issues.
  • Support office openings, relocations, structured cabling, wireless deployments, internet circuits, physical security systems, and related infrastructure projects.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior IT staff while serving as a subject matter expert for enterprise networking technologies.
  • Maintain network diagrams, IP address management records, configuration documentation, standards, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Participate in architecture reviews, change management, scheduled maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation supporting critical production incidents and planned maintenance activities.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7+ years of experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure, including cloud and hybrid networking environments.
  • Active Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification.
  • Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting Microsoft Azure networking.
  • Experience supporting AWS networking technologies in enterprise environments.
  • Strong knowledge of: TCP/IP, Routing and Switching, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, IPSec, High Availability, and Network Security.
  • Experience configuring enterprise routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, wireless infrastructure, and load balancers.
  • Experience with enterprise firewall platforms such as Palo Alto, Cisco Secure Firewall (Firepower), Fortinet, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and network automation using Terraform, Bicep, ARM Templates, CloudFormation, PowerShell, Python, or similar tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with Infrastructure, Cloud Engineering, Security, Facilities, vendors, and business stakeholders.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to company data centers, office facilities, and other business locations as required for network deployments, troubleshooting, maintenance, migrations, and emergency support.
  • Must be available for occasional after-hours or weekend work during planned maintenance and critical network incidents.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate certification. The selected candidate must obtain this certification within 90 days of joining if not already certified.
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional certification.
  • AWS Certified Advanced Networking certification.
  • Additional relevant cloud, networking, automation, or security certifications.
  • Experience using Ansible for network automation and configuration management.
