Job summary

Optomi, in partnership with a premier client, is seeking a Cloud Network Engineer II to support hybrid cloud and on-premises networks. You will work hands-on in a small, collaborative infra team to keep networks reliable, secure, and high-performing.

The role requires Cisco and Meraki experience, AWS networking, ALB load balancing, Terraform IaC, and multi-cloud connectivity. You will troubleshoot, optimize, and document infrastructure while collaborating with DevOps and security teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in network engineering, cloud networking, or network infrastructure engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco networking technologies and routing/switching.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco Meraki networking and wireless infrastructure.
• Experience supporting AWS cloud environments and cloud networking.
• Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with firewalls and network security.
• Understanding of BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, DHCP.
• Exposure to CI/CD and Git-based infrastructure workflows.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain hybrid network infrastructure across AWS, Azure, OCI, and on-premises environments.
• Manage and troubleshoot Cisco and Cisco Meraki networking infrastructure, including routing, switching, wireless, and connectivity.
• Configure and support Application Load Balancers (ALB) and health checks.
• Manage connectivity across multiple cloud providers and on-premises environments using Megaport and cloud connectivity services.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot firewalls, WAFs, network segmentation, and security policies.
• Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Collaborate with DevOps teams and provide technical support for CI/CD processes and infrastructure code deployments.
• Maintain network documentation, configurations, standards, and operational procedures.

Overview:

Optomi, in partnership with a premier client, is seeking a Cloud Network Engineer II will support and enhance a hybrid cloud and on-premises network environment within a small, highly collaborative infrastructure team. This role is hands‑on and focused on maintaining reliable, secure, and high‑performing network and cloud infrastructure.

The ideal candidate brings strong Cisco and Cisco Meraki networking experience, AWS cloud networking knowledge, and hands‑on experience with routing, switching, load balancing, firewalls, Terraform, and multi‑cloud connectivity. This is an operational engineering role focused on keeping the environment running smoothly, troubleshooting complex issues, and continuously improving the infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and maintain hybrid network infrastructure across AWS, Azure, OCI, and on-premises environments.


• Manage and troubleshoot Cisco and Cisco Meraki networking infrastructure, including routing, switching, wireless, and connectivity.


• Configure and support Application Load Balancers (ALB) and associated traffic flows, listeners, target groups, and health checks.


• Manage connectivity across multiple cloud providers and on-premises environments using Megaport and cloud connectivity services.


• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot firewalls, WAFs, network segmentation, and security policies.


• Support wireless infrastructure and manage related certificates and authentication requirements.


• Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).


• Monitor network and cloud infrastructure performance and troubleshoot connectivity, routing, and availability issues.


• Support Linux-based infrastructure and troubleshoot operating system and connectivity issues.


• Collaborate with DevOps teams and provide technical support for CI/CD processes and infrastructure code deployments.


• Partner with infrastructure, security, application, and development teams to resolve complex technical issues.


• Maintain network documentation, configurations, standards, and operational procedures.


• Participate in infrastructure improvements and technology initiatives while maintaining stability across the existing environment.


• Provide hands‑on operational support within a small infrastructure engineering team.

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in network engineering, cloud networking, or network infrastructure engineering.


• Strong hands‑on experience with Cisco networking technologies and routing/switching.


• Strong hands‑on experience with Cisco Meraki, including network and wireless infrastructure.


• Experience supporting AWS cloud environments and cloud networking.


• Hands‑on experience with Application Load Balancers (ALB) and load balancing concepts.


• Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.


• Experience with firewalls and network security.


• Experience with Megaport or similar multi‑cloud connectivity solutions preferred.


• Understanding of networking protocols and technologies including BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, and DHCP.


• Exposure to CI/CD and Git‑based infrastructure workflows.


• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.


• Ability to work independently and take ownership of infrastructure within a small engineering team.


• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across infrastructure, security, DevOps, and application teams.
