Job summary

ASX is seeking a skilled Java software engineer to design and build microservice-based digital platforms. You will work in a fast-paced environment delivering cloud-native services, with focus on event-driven architectures and API development.

The role demands hands-on coding, collaboration with architecture, and adherence to engineering standards. You will contribute to health of the code base, perform reviews, and participate in continuous improvement while operating in agile delivery models.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in microservice and API development using event driven architecture.
• 3–5 years as a Java engineer with Spring Boot, JPA, Messaging, GraphQL and React.
• Good understanding of CI/CD tooling and DevOps, Google Cloud / AWS Build preferred.
• Strong knowledge of security principles with IAM exposure.
• Familiarity with system analysis methodologies and tools.
• Experience with Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as ELK.
• Experience with integration technologies like Kafka or Tibco ESB.
• Exposure to front-end technologies such as React, Vue or similar.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop software solutions within the digital engineering team.
• Create tools and documentation to support maintenance and operations of applications.
• Contribute to code health via reviews and best practices.
• Apply agile and iterative methods to deliver value.
• Provide estimates and contribute to backlog sizing.
• Collaborate with architecture to define technical options and solutions.
• Ensure quality, security and compliance in code and deployments.
