Job summary

Bayside Solutions in Seattle seeks a Backend Software Engineer to design, build, and evolve distributed backend services in Java/Go, hosted in cloud-native production environments; you’ll work on APIs, data stores, and Kubernetes deployments.

You will collaborate with platform and infra engineers on migrations, observability, production readiness, testing, CI/CD, and code reviews, while clearly communicating tradeoffs and risks to engineering partners.

Qualifications

• Strong backend experience in Go or Java with production APIs.
• Experience designing and maintaining distributed services and data stores.
• Solid understanding of concurrency, testing, and maintainable design.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in dev or production.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and maintain production backend services and microservices in Java.
• Build and evolve APIs using gRPC, REST, and JSON interfaces.
• Operate with cloud-native deployment using Kubernetes environments.
• Collaborate with platform/infrastructure on observability, migrations, and releases.
• Improve performance, scalability, availability, and fault tolerance.
