McLane Company, Inc. in Temple, TX, is seeking an Enterprise Architect II to lead the evolution of our integration, orchestration, and API strategy on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

This hybrid role requires reporting to the office at least three days a week within a 50-minute radius of Temple, TX. You'll define architectural standards across ERP, OMS, Commerce, MDM, and analytics domains, partnering with Product, Security, and Engineering to align technology with business goals and modernization

Qualifications

• Requires 8+ years in enterprise/solution architecture.
• Deep expertise in API management and event-driven integration.
• Proven leadership across product, security, and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain enterprise integration, orchestration, and API architecture strategies.
• Define baseline, transition-state, and target-state integration architectures across key enterprise domains.
• Guide architecture and design decisions for APIs, event-driven solutions, and orchestration workflows.
• Establish and evolve the enterprise integration architecture runway in alignment with strategic business initiatives.
• Partner with Product, Program, Security, Architecture, and Engineering teams to align technology roadmaps with enterprise architecture standards.
• Support portfolio planning, platform modernization efforts, and technology investment decisions.
• Drive adoption of cloud-native integration and API technologies within Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Define standards and best practices for Apigee, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Workflows, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Apache Camel, and event-driven integration patterns.
• Ensure enterprise integrations are designed for security, scalability, resilience, observability, and operational excellence.
• Influence solution architecture and system design activities across multiple business functions and technology portfolios.
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into executable architecture roadmaps.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, integration patterns, and industry best practices to support enterprise modernization initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership, architecture governance, mentorship, and guidance across engineering and architecture teams.
• Support production operations, architecture reviews, issue resolution, and continuous improvement activities.
