Job summary

NRC Health is seeking a skilled software engineer to design and enhance our cloud-native healthcare platform. You will own software and services, build Kubernetes deployments, and implement infrastructure as code for scalable cloud resources.

The role emphasizes reliable CI/CD, observability, and collaboration across teams. You’ll leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate delivery, improve code quality, and automate repetitive tasks while working with AWS services and modern DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in CS/IT/Engineering.
• Strong software engineering experience delivering production applications.
• Experience administering Kubernetes clusters (EKS preferred).
• Experience with AWS services (EKS, RDS, IAM, S3, Route 53, ALB, CloudWatch).
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Experience automating infrastructure, deployments, or workflows.
• Understanding of cloud architecture, scalability, distributed systems, and modern design.
• Troubleshooting production systems in cloud environments.
• Familiarity with observability, monitoring, and logging platforms.
• Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, ChatGPT).
• Willingness to rapidly learn and adopt AI-powered workflows.
• Strong problem-solving with ownership mindset.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and enhance customer-facing product functionality across our healthcare platform.
• Own the software and services you build, with reliability, scalability, and maintainability in mind.
• Build and maintain Kubernetes-based deployments.
• Design, implement, and maintain Infrastructure as Code to provision cloud resources.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines for reliable automated delivery.
• Build reusable infrastructure modules and deployment patterns.
• Automate operational processes to improve platform reliability.
• Collaborate with engineers to improve deployment processes and workflows.
• Monitor production environments and improve observability and health.
• Identify and resolve scalability, performance, and reliability challenges.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term solutions.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery and quality.
• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to long-term direction.
• Write clean, well-tested, well-documented code.
