Job summary

Amazon is seeking fungible software development engineers for the Ads, LEO, Devices, and Entertainment Teams. The role focuses on designing and building highly available cloud services in Java and multi-tier distributed systems.

You will work on greenfield projects, shape architecture, tooling, and culture from day one, with generous opportunities to leverage generative AI to accelerate delivery and improve code quality across large-scale customer-facing features.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship software development experience.
• 2+ years in design or architecture of large systems.
• Experience with multi-tier, distributed software architectures.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in CS/Engineering/Math or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement highly available, scalable cloud services in Java.
• Build and operate Tier-1 services at massive scale
• Solve novel and complex distributed systems challenges — from low-latency communication to fault-tolerant architectures
• Leverage generative AI extensively in your day-to-day development workflow to accelerate delivery and improve code quality
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams across Amazon to define technical direction and deliver customer-facing features
• Contribute to a culture of operational excellence, including on-call support, monitoring, and continuous improvement
