Job summary

Amazon is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer (SDE) to design, build, and operate distributed services at global scale. You will own services end-to-end—from architecture to production operations—and drive improvements in reliability and latency.

You will contribute to engineering standards and mentor junior engineers, enabling a culture of high-quality software across AWS infrastructure teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate distributed services that are reliable, scalable, and maintainable at global scale.
• Own your services end-to-end — from architecture and implementation through deployment and production operations.
• Identify and drive improvements to system reliability, latency, and operational posture.
• Contribute to team engineering standards, code reviews, and technical direction.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of high engineering quality.
