Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join the Transit Gateway team in Arlington, VA. You will contribute to building scalable networking and distributed systems that connect thousands of VPCs and on-prem networks, delivering high performance and cost efficiency.

The role emphasizes collaboration, design of large-scale systems, and agile work cycles to ship impactful features for customers worldwide.

Qualifications

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
2+ years of design or architecture experience on large systems.
1+ years of software development engineer or related experience.
1+ years designing and developing large-scale distributed software.
Experience with C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in CS/Engineering/Math or related field.
Experience programming with at least one language.
3+ years of full SDLC including coding standards, code reviews, build processes, testing and operations.
Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with cross-disciplinary Amazonians to conceive, design, and bring innovative products and services to market.
Design and build innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment and help lead fundamental changes in the industry.
Create solutions to run predictions on distributed systems with exposure to innovative technologies at incredible scale and speed.
Build distributed storage, index, and query systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, low cost, and easy to manage/use.
Design and code the right solutions starting with broadly defined problems.
Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software.
