Job summary

Continental Finance Company seeks a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and optimize enterprise cloud infrastructure and networking across AWS. You will support cloud platforms, automation, security and monitoring, ensuring scalable, high-resilience environments and adherence to ITIL practices.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in cloud engineering, AWS networking expertise, and relevant certifications. A hybrid work model and growth opportunities are offered by the company.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in cloud engineering.
• BA/BS degree preferred.
• Certifications from leading vendors such as CompTIA, Cisco, AWS, or Microsoft are preferred.
• Knowledge of advanced AWS networking components (VPC Peering, Direct Connect, ELB, API Gateway), including TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, subnets.
• Familiarity with Cloud Technology (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Experience with infrastructure as code and configuration management.

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer willdesign, implement, maintain, and optimize enterprise cloud infrastructure and networking environments. This role is responsible for supporting cloud platforms, infrastructure automation, networking, monitoring, and security initiatives across AWS environments. Essential Functions:

• Be an integral part of continually improving our infrastructure architecture as technology, industry standards, and best practices continue to evolve.
• Design, implement, manage, and support cloud infrastructure solutions across AWS and other cloud platforms.
• Build and maintain highly available, scalable, and secure cloud environments.
• Configure and manage AWS services.
• Design and maintain advanced AWS networking solutions including VPC Peering, AWS Direct Connect, routing, subnets, firewalls, and load balancing.
• Implement and support configuration management, change control, and infrastructure automation processes.
• Participate in audits & security reviews, providing required IT documentation and/or information.
• Perform technical troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions to determine the best solutions based on the issue.
• Maintain documentation (Runbooks, How To, SOPs, etc) and seek opportunities within the department to improve operational awareness and efficiencies.
• Drive adoption for continuous improvements and proficiency of changes within the organization in accordance ITIL Framework.
• Develop project strategies and plans, including stakeholder assessment, communications to ensure the timely execution of the Tech Operations teams’ objectives.
• Ability to perform regular and routine maintenance activities in accordance with Compliance and Regulatory guidelines.
• Develop short and long-term goals, KPIs, objectives, develop and execute against operational plan.
• Lead/facilitate meetings with clients to ensure an understanding of the current company culture and goals.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED. BA or BS Degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in cloud engineering required.
• Certifications from leading vendors such as CompTIA, Cisco, AWS, or Microsoft are preferred.
• Knowledge of advanced AWS networking components (VPC Peers, AWS Direct Connect, ELB and API Gateways), including TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, ARP tables, and subnets.
• The position requires minimal travel. Occasional travel requirements may be subject to overnight depending on the company needs.
• Ability to lift 25+ pounds and sit for long periods of time.
• Team player that can collaborate with other teams in the organization.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, in addition to effective customer interaction skills.
• Familiarity with Cloud Technology (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Knowledge of advanced Linux Administration, Active Directory user accounts and basic Microsoft applications.
• Ability to work well under deadlines and in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong experience with AWS (VPC, EC2, S3, ELB, RDS, ECS, Redshift).
• Experience with both Infrastructure as code and configuration management.
• Familiarity with the principles and practice of configuration management and change control.
• Ability to design, implement and maintain automation and monitoring processes.
• Strong windows server administration experience.
• Good understanding of the TCP/IP stack and networking.
