Overview
Veeco is seeking a talented Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. This role is pivotal in supporting and enhancing our cloud environments, with a primary focus on AWS. You will provide technical expertise for various projects, manage relationships with our managed service providers, and play a critical role in maintaining and upgrading our cloud infrastructure that supports over 20 global sites across North America, APAC, and Europe, as well as a heavily remote workforce.
Remote opportunity but will need to be available during Eastern Standard time business hours.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical strategy for utilizing cloud-enabled services to meet business needs.
- Monitor and optimize cloud resources to ensure performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate across IT, business units, and managed service providers to design, implement, and support new and existing cloud services.
- Ensure systems are securely built and compliant with IT security policies and industry best practices.
- Document technical and business requirements for both existing infrastructure and new projects, ensuring clear communication across teams.
- Work closely with Infrastructure Operations, Information Security, Enterprise Applications, Data & AI Operations, and IT Service Delivery teams to support AWS initiatives.
- Resolve infrastructure-related issues across a broad range of technologies.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis on production system failures, develop corrective action plans, and monitor their effectiveness.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and a minimum of 5+ years of experience as an AWS Cloud Infrastructure Engineer or similar role is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge spanning AWS services (EC2, S3) and networking (VPC, Transit Gateways, VPN).
- Experience with IAM systems, including root account security, key management, custom role mapping, and least privilege across multiple accounts and AWS regions.
- Knowledge in core networking technologies, including IP addressing, routing, VPC configuration, security, load balancing, DNS, and network monitoring/troubleshooting.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure issues across both on-premises and AWS workloads.
- Willingness to learn new technologies to meet growing business demands.
- Extensive knowledge of cloud computing technologies and trends.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with peers, developers, engineers, managers, and leadership.
- AWS or Azure certifications.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Experience working with managed service providers.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
- Implement best practices, strategies, methodologies, and approaches to systems administration tasks and complex projects.

- Develop repeatable standards and implementation processes to ensure product uniformity and quality.
- Document, deploy, and improve new and existing infrastructure to improve Veeco’s technology experience continually.

The expected salary range for this position is $94,068 — $119,153 , plus a bonus opportunity. We will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors when determining your pay.
