Job summary

TEKsystems' client, a large, growing company headquartered in Birmingham, AL, is seeking a Cloud Systems Engineer to join their team on a contract-to-hire basis.

The role covers Windows and Linux server administration, Entra Active Directory support, security analytics with Defender, threat hunting, and vulnerability scanning. Proficiency in Azure/AWS DevOps, scripting, and AI tools is desired. Hybrid work in Birmingham.

Qualifications

• Responsibilities include managing both Windows and Linux server environments and Entra Active Directory administration.
• Security analytics duties covering Microsoft Defender, threat hunting, vulnerability scanning, and KQL rules.
• Experience with AI tools (Claude, Copilot) and Cloud DevOps (Azure, AWS) is preferred.

Responsibilities

Description

One of TEKsystems' clients, a large, growing company headquartered in Birmingham, AL is looking for a Cloud Systems Engineer to join their team.

The candidate will be responsible for a variety of technologies within the environment. First and foremost, the systems engineer will be responsible for both Windows Server (Logs in, troubleshoots, install software, add users, etc.) and Linux Server administration (Logs In, Create Accounts, Restart Services). Entra Active Directory support and administration as well.

Additional responsibilities will include information security analysis to include Microsoft Defender, lite threat hunting, vulnerability scanning, KQL and customer detection rules. Also, the ideal candidate will be proficient with AI (Claude, Copilot, Copilot Studio) and Cloud (Azure, AWS) Devops engineering as well.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
