Job summary

Jet Support Services, Inc. is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer in Chicago to maintain our Azure cloud and Microsoft 365 environments. You’ll implement security controls, automate provisioning with PowerShell and Terraform, and manage DR readiness within a collaborative operations team.

You will monitor Azure services, perform on-call support, and help advance our infrastructure with Entra ID, Intune, and Cisco Meraki integration. A CS/IT degree and 5+ years in IT are expected.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in Information Technology roles.

Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and support Azure Cloud Computing platform and Windows Server environment.
• Implement and support cloud network and security services including Azure Firewall and NSGs.
• Administer Microsoft 365 environment: Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and related services.
• Manage Purview Data Lifecycle Management, Records Management, and eDiscovery.
• Automate provisioning and operations using PowerShell and Terraform.
• Lead DR testing and ensure backups are maintained.
• Onboard/offboard identities using Entra ID; ensure IAM best practices.
• Configure endpoint devices with Intune and monitor compliance.
• Support Cisco Meraki hardware, ticketing systems, and other SaaS apps.
• Respond to security alerts and drive infrastructure improvements.
• Monitor with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, App Insights; participate in on-call rotations.
• Create and maintain technical documentation; stay current with tech trends.

Position Summary

As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will implement, support, and maintain our organization's cloud and collaboration infrastructure across Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 and other platforms. Working within an operations team, you will safeguard the reliability, security, and performance of these systems by responding to security and performance alerts, maintaining backup and disaster recovery readiness, and driving infrastructure improvement initiatives that align with industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and support the organization’s Azure Cloud Computing platform and Windows Server environment, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability.


• Implement and support cloud network and security services, including Azure Firewall and Network Security Groups.


• Administer and support the organization’s Microsoft 365 environment, primarily focused on Exchange, Teams, Teams Telephony, SharePoint, and OneDrive.


• Administer Microsoft Purview Data Lifecycle Management, Records Management, and eDiscovery, ensuring retention, preservation, and legal hold requirements are met across the M365 environment.


• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and routine operations using PowerShell scripting and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.


• Participate in Disaster Recovery testing and ensure backups are maintained.


• Onboard, offboard, and routinely audit the organization’s user and application identities using Entra ID while adhering to Identity and Access Management best practices.


• Configure endpoint devices using Intune and monitor to ensure compliance.


• Configure and support Cisco Meraki network hardware, the organization’s ticketing system, and other business SaaS applications.


• Respond to security alerts to eradicate threats within the environment.


• Lead and contribute to various infrastructure improvement projects and initiatives.


• Monitor infrastructure services using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, App Insights, and other tools.


• Participate in on-call rotation and perform off-hours support and maintenance as required.


• Contribute to and maintain technical and procedural documentation.


• Stay informed on emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure our infrastructure remains up to date.


• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field — or equivalent professional experience.


• Minimum of 5 years' experience in Information Technology roles.


• Minimum of 3 years’ experience administering M365 environments with an emphasis on Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Intune, and Entra ID.


• Minimum of 3 years’ experience supporting the Azure Cloud Computing platform.


• Advanced knowledge of security and network protocols.


• Experience implementing backup and disaster recovery solutions.


• Strong experience with automation and scripting using PowerShell. Terraform experience is a plus.


• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.


• Experience leading cross-functional technology projects.


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.


• Relevant certifications are a plus, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700), Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert (MS-102), or Cisco CCNA.

For this role, the annual base pay generally ranges from $110,000 to $120,000, with the final offer determined by variable factors including but not limited to market location, job-specific knowledge, skills, education, and experience. In addition, your total rewards package may include an annual discretionary bonus plan, incentive or sales bonus plan, or other form of additional compensation, based on your role.
