This is an opportunity to lead a field engineering team, helping customers understand and implement Canonical's open source solutions in public clouds and data centers. The role involves working across cloud offerings, from Ubuntu to virtualization, private cloud, Kubernetes, and open source solutions like MLops platforms and data platforms. As Canonical expands into industries like telco, finance, healthcare, and media, we develop new open source solutions to meet their needs.
We believe Engineering Managers should be outstanding engineers, capable of troubleshooting technical issues, engaging in presales conversations, and contributing to project delivery. They should also focus on shaping team direction, focus, and growth. We develop management skills and train engineers interested in soft skills to become managers.

The team of cloud solutions architects works directly with customers to design private and public cloud solutions, including products like Openstack, MicroCloud, Ceph, Kubernetes, Kubeflow, Spark, PostgreSQL, etc. Managers and team members deploy, test, and hand over solutions, and participate in presales to advise during sales processes.
The manager is responsible for line management, career guidance, technical representation, collaboration, and active participation in presales to meet quarterly goals.
This role is home-based, managing a team in your time zone.
