Job summary

Fortinet is looking for a Cloud Field CSE to drive adoption of cloud security solutions across major public cloud platforms in the South East US region. This role involves collaborating with customers and internal teams to deliver well-architected cloud security solutions.

The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of experience in public cloud services, proficiency in network security concepts, and automation tools. Additional qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in a technical field and relevant industry certifications.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cloud Field CSE to drive adoption of our cloud security solutions—including Next-Generation Firewall, Application Security, Web Application Firewall, Secure Access Service Edge, and more—across major public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Google Cloud Platform) in the South East US region. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Customers, Account Managers, Solutions Engineers, Territory Leaders, and Cloud Consulting Architects to design and deliver well‑architected cloud security solutions that address critical business needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance on public cloud matters to regional sellers and customers
• Use and demonstrate automation services for cloud service provisioning
• Translate business requirements into technical requirements
• Design complex cloud networking architectures that satisfy CSP best practices
• Contribute to proof of concepts
• Lead customer‑facing presentations
• Lead training activities for internal partners and customers
• Stay up to date on the latest cloud security threats, trends, and Fortinet product updates relevant to public cloud environments

Requirements

• 2 years of experience in the design and implementation of public cloud services on AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.
• Experience in network security concepts and technologies, including VPN, proxies, authentication mechanisms (e.g., SAML, OAuth), and firewall principles.
• Familiarity with infrastructure‑as‑code (IaC) and orchestration tools such as Terraform, Ansible, AWS CloudFormation, and Azure Resource Manager.
• Proven presentation and public‑speaking skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• General understanding of the cloud marketplace dynamics and private offers within public cloud platforms is a plus.
• Experience with containerization technologies including Kubernetes and Docker, and their security implications in cloud environments.
• Awareness and practical understanding of APIs and applications in cloud environments.
• Scripting experience with a major language such as Python is nice to have.
• Understanding of database services such as DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, etc. is nice to have.
• Ability to use data structures such as YAML, XML, JSON is nice to have.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and drive tasks to completion.
• Experience with effective evaluation processes and closure is a plus.
• Technical experience and understanding of Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) platforms and their components (e.g., SWG, CASB, ZTNA) is a significant plus.
• Willingness and ability to travel as required for customer engagements, internal meetings, and cloud marketing events.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering (Computer, Electrical, or related), or a closely related technical field.
• Equivalent industry experience and relevant certifications may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
• Advanced degree (Master's) in a relevant field is a plus.

Compensation

On target earnings for this position are expected to be $200,000 - $240,000 per year. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate’s subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. All roles are eligible to participate in the Fortinet equity program, and this position is also eligible for commissions based on the terms of the Sales Compensation Plan.
