Job summary

University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, Health Data COMPASS, seeks an IT Program Director to provide operational and technical leadership for cloud engineering and to shape long-term technology strategy across campus. The role oversees budgeting, vendor partnerships, and cross-functional collaboration to mature Compass's engineering infrastructure and cloud architecture.

Reporting to Operations, this position guides a high-performing team, ensures security and governance, and partners

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IS/CE/IT or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Six+ years in cloud computing, data engineering, data analysis, or cloud platform management.
• Four+ years of people management or supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide program direction for Compass's engineering program aligning tech with priorities.
• Develop multi-year cloud infrastructure roadmap and drive adoption of new technologies.
• Manage budget, identify cost efficiencies, and evaluate ROI.
• Lead vendor strategy, contracting, and RFP/RFQ processes.
• Allocate resources across projects and ensure coverage of the tech stack.
• Establish performance metrics and oversee reporting against SLAs and objectives.
• Develop staff through coaching and annual reviews; foster accountability and collaboration.
• Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and governance standards.
