We are hiring a Engineering Manager for our BootStack team, which designs, builds, and operates distributed systems on private infrastructure, including Kubernetes and OpenStack. This role offers an opportunity for a technologist passionate about Linux and Cloud technologies to lead a team managing customer environments, ensuring service quality and continuous improvement. Collaboration with customers, product engineering, and operations is essential.

Location: This is a globally remote role.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Managing a growing engineering team to optimize development and operations quality and velocity
  2. Identifying and measuring team health indicators
  3. Implementing disciplined engineering and operations processes
  4. Representing the BootStack team with stakeholders, customers, and external teams
  5. Focusing the team on priorities, milestones, and deliverables
  6. Meeting service level agreements for global customer deployments
  7. Delivering quality managed services in a timely manner
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technology field
  • Proven experience in software delivery (Python, Go, C, C++, Java) and/or managing operations teams
  • Experience with OpenStack
  • Strong commitment to testing methodologies and maintainable code
  • Linux system administration experience; Ubuntu/Debian preferred
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience with agile methodologies and managing distributed teams
  • Technical understanding of complex distributed systems
  • Knowledge of cloud topologies and technologies
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%
