Job summary

Leidos is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineering Lead to join the Defense Enclave Services team, responsible for designing, deploying, and operating IaaS/PaaS/SaaS in the Azure Cloud to meet DoD requirements.

The role requires leading a distributed team, ensuring security compliance (NIST/FedRAMP/FISMA), and guiding cloud modernization initiatives across multiple programs, including data-center migration. Remote work with onsite as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 12+ years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience managing teams of engineers, including mentoring and fostering communication and collaboration across the team.
• Expertise designing, deploying, and operating solutions built on Azure, AWS or GCP.
• Experience with Identity Access Management (IDAM), AzureAD, and CyberArk, Okta or other modern ICAM solutions.
• Experience developing and deploying Infrastructure as Code (IaC), utilizing CI/CD tools, and leveraging automation platforms such as Ansible or Azure Functions.
• Understanding of Federal Government application, server, and network security requirements such as NIST, FedRAMP, and FISMA.
• Ability to work effectively within a distributed technical team, aided by strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Current IAT Level II (or higher) Certification such as Security + or CISSP

• Design and deploy as code system architecture for IaaS/PaaS/SaaS services in the Azure Cloud
• Provide inputs to the design of the enterprise’s cloud and mission architecture
• Evaluate and support application architectures across platforms to ensure alignment to cloud and application modernization strategies, capabilities and requirements
• Continually identify opportunities for improvement, including innovations aimed at improving the user experience, improving efficiencies, and lowering sustainment costs
• Enforce security best practices and guidelines, leveraging knowledge of security policies, network security, and data security
• Initiate frequent interactions with the team of cloud engineers to identify areas of improvement and facilitate their career growth, including participation in annual performance reviews
• Scale cloud solutions, and migrate data center capabilities to the cloud, enabling the support of Fourth Estate Networks and Users supporting approximately 400k users.

Leidos is seeking an experience Cloud Engineering Lead to join our Defense Enclave Services (DES) team, who will support an extensive digital modernization program critical to Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and Department of Defense (DoD) Fourth Estate Agencies. The Senior Cloud Engineer will design, develop, configure, and deploy IaaS/PaaS and SaaS services within the Azure Cloud to fulfill end user requirements.

The position will support multiple engineering projects modernizing the DoD Environment, including the migration of applications from on-premise to the cloud and zero-trust network initiatives. Engineering efforts will include design, deployment, test, and migration of the solutions the candidate develops.

JOB LOCATION: Remote (Onsite at Ft. Meade as needed)

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: Must possess an Active SECRET or above DoD clearance to be considered. (US Citizenship required)

Pay Range:

Pay Range $131,300.00 - $237,350.00
