Job description

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Cloud Engineer in US / Canada.

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer to design, build, and deploy highly scalable, secure, and reliable cloud environments. In this role, you will work on complex cloud projects, including migrations from on‑premises systems to AWS, creating new landing zones, and implementing Infrastructure‑as‑Code with modern automation frameworks. You will be responsible for architecting and maintaining cloud infrastructure, building automation pipelines, implementing monitoring and alerting systems, and leveraging cutting‑edge cloud services to optimize performance, cost, and security. This hands‑on role involves collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality cloud solutions and ensuring clients achieve their business objectives efficiently. The ideal candidate thrives in fast‑paced environments and has a deep understanding of cloud architecture and best practices.

Accountabilities
  • Design, deploy, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available AWS infrastructure, including compute, storage, networking, and database services.
  • Lead or participate in cloud migrations, including lift‑and‑shift and cloud‑native re‑architecting.
  • Build and maintain Infrastructure‑as‑Code using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines and automate deployment workflows using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline.
  • Develop serverless and containerized solutions using AWS Lambda, Step Functions, ECS, EKS, and Fargate.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems with CloudWatch, X‑Ray, Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK/EFK stacks.
  • Apply best practices for cloud security, including IAM policies, encryption, VPC/network segmentation, and threat protection services.
  • Optimize cloud resource performance and cost efficiency through right‑sizing and architectural improvements.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues, conduct root cause analyses, and maintain thorough documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including development, QA, operations, security, and project management.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5+ years of hands‑on experience with AWS in engineering or infrastructure roles.
  • Strong knowledge of core AWS services such as EC2, S3, VPC, RDS/Aurora, Lambda, API Gateway, IAM, and CloudWatch.
  • Proven experience with Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK).
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS/Fargate).
  • Hands‑on experience building CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, CodePipeline, or GitHub Actions.
  • Solid scripting skills (Python, Bash, NodeJS, PowerShell, or similar) for automation tasks.
  • Familiarity with cloud monitoring, logging, and tracing tools (CloudWatch, X‑Ray, ELK stack, Prometheus, Grafana).
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, and compliance practices.
  • Experience in agile or scrum environments, project delivery, and milestone management.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
Benefits
  • Competitive base salary and potential performance bonuses.
  • Comprehensive healthcare coverage including medical, dental, and vision.
  • Professional development opportunities and ongoing learning support.
  • Flexible work environment, including remote work eligibility.
  • Exposure to leading cloud technologies and large‑scale projects.
  • Inclusive and collaborative company culture emphasizing growth and innovation.
