Job summary

FNBO is looking for a Cloud Engineer to drive and implement cloud solutions on AWS. The role focuses on building scalable, secure cloud platforms, automating infrastructure, and maturing CI/CD pipelines.

You will work with development teams to streamline deployments and monitor performance using Dynatrace. Hybrid multi-cloud experience is valued, with on-call support and cross-functional collaboration essential.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of engineering experience on a major cloud platform (AWS preferred).
• 2-4 years of Linux server administration, networking or infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services (VPC, EC2, S3, IAM, EKS, CloudWatch, etc.).
• Experience with IaC (Terraform, Ansible) and CI/CD tooling.
• Experience administering Kubernetes clusters.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes industry best practices to develop and maintain a cloud-hosted platform for FNBO’s cloud transformation.
• Assist with cloud design and infrastructure choices across design/architecture.
• Implement tools and automation for self-service cloud provisioning and monitoring.
• Automate and evolve CI/CD pipelines for code deployment.
• Leverage Terraform, Ansible, and scripting to improve efficiency.
• Use Dynatrace to identify and address infra issues and MTTR.
• Troubleshoot production issues and escalate as needed.
• Collaborate with teams and share knowledge via architecture diagrams and runbooks.
• Participate in communities of practice and keep up with cloud tech trends.

You will use cloud-based technologies to modernize infrastructure, provide infrastructure automation services, and migrate workloads to the cloud. You will also partner with software development teams to streamline and automate release management pipelines. As a Cloud Engineer, you will play a key role in helping FNBO achieve its cloud computing strategy and driving our IT transformation efforts.**About This Role:****RESPONSIBILITIES*** Utilizes industry best practices to continuously develop and maintain a resilient, secure, scalable, and efficient cloud-hosted platform to support the ongoing cloud transformation for FNBO.* Assist with the inputs for recommendations for cloud design, infrastructure design, software development design/architecture, application frameworks, and/or interfaces.* With some guidance, implement tools and automation to provide self-service capabilities to the organization for building, configuring, maintaining, and monitoring cloud-based infrastructure and cloud platform services (Infrastructure as Code and Configuration as Code).* Automate and evolve the pipelines to continuously integrate and deploy code (CI/CD).* Leverage technologies (such as Terraform and Ansible) and scripting languages to build automations to enhance the efficiency and reliability of processes.* Leverage the observability platform (Dynatrace) to identify and address cloud infrastructure deficiencies, availability gaps, performance bottlenecks, and improve mean time to resolution (MTTR).* Troubleshoot production issues and respond to after-hours escalations. Escalate support issues to vendors (when necessary) to drive timely resolution of issues for critical systems.* Collaborate with peer organizations, product delivery teams, and support organizations to provide guidance on technical matters in a clear, concise, and easily understood manner.* Create and deliver documentation and presentations to developers and operations teams to share knowledge (Architecture diagrams, system flows, run books, procedures, etc.).* Actively participate in community of practices and demonstrate a solid understanding of cloud computing technologies.* Follow emerging industry trends and build proof of concepts to evaluate current cloud technologies, concepts, designs, and provide new recommendations.* Periodically assist with the testing and maintenance of the disaster recovery plan for our hybrid multi-cloud environment.**The Ideal Candidate for This Role:****EXPERIENCE*** 2-4 years of engineering experience on a major cloud platform required (AWS preferred)* 2-4 years of experience with server administration (Linux preferred), networking or infrastructure required* Experience with AWS services (Preferred): + Networking: VPC / Subnets / Route Tables / VPG / Security Groups + Compute: EC2 / AutoScaling / Load Balancers + Database: RDS / Aurora / DynamoDB + Other: SQS / SNS / S3 / IAM / EKS / CloudWatch / CloudFront / Kinesis / Lambda* Experience with Infrastructure and Application Monitoring concepts* **Experience administering Kubernetes clusters*** A strong background in scripting and/or programming languages (BASH, Perl, Ruby, Python, YAML, Java, etc.)* 4 years of experience in the IT field**KNOWLEDGE*** Cloud certifications from the major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) preferred* Knowledge in designing & implementing infrastructure-as-a-code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, and GitLab.* Knowledge of containerization technologies such as EKS, ECS and Docker* Knowledge of networking, firewalls, load balancers etc.* Knowledge of private cloud and hybrid cloud configurations required* Knowledge of ITSM delivery**GENERAL SKILLS*** Strong commitment to customer service and service enablement* Able to work effectively, both independently and as a member of a cross-functional team* Self-driven & motivated, with a strong work ethic and a passion for problem solving* A desire to conceptually understand our business* Excellent written and verbal communication skills* Excellent influencing and reasoning skills; good at conflict resolution and consensus building* Experience working with third-party vendors* Understanding of Scrum Agile methodology and have worked on a Scrum team* Able to participate in on-call rotationCandidates must possess unrestricted work authorization and not require future sponsorship.**Compensation:**Compensation range (base pay): $79,363.00-$130,949.00*This role may have a specific starting pay within this range.*Final compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.**Work Environment:**It is anticipated that the incumbent in this role will work in a hybrid capacity, balancing in-person collaboration three (3) days a week with remote flexibility two (2) days a week.
