Job summary

FNBO is seeking a Cloud Engineer to drive cloud solutions on the AWS platform, modernizing infrastructure with automation and CI/CD pipelines. You will partner with software teams to streamline releases and advance FNBO's cloud strategy.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of cloud engineering and Linux administration, hands-on AWS services, and scripting skills, with familiarity in Kubernetes and Dynatrace for observability.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of engineering experience on a major cloud platform (AWS preferred).
  • Experience with AWS services: Networking (VPC/Subnets/Route Tables), Compute (EC2/AutoScaling/Load Balancers), Database (RDS/Aurora/DynamoDB).
  • Experience with Infrastructure and Application Monitoring concepts.
  • Experience administering Kubernetes clusters.
  • Strong scripting/programming background (BASH, Perl, Ruby, Python, YAML, Java).
  • 4 years in the IT field.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize best practices to develop and maintain a resilient, secure, scalable cloud-hosted platform.
  • Assist with cloud design and infrastructure design recommendations.
  • Implement tools and automation for self-service infrastructure provisioning (IaC/Configuration as Code).
  • Automate CI/CD pipelines for code deployment.
  • Leverage Terraform, Ansible, and scripting for automation.
  • Use Dynatrace to identify issues and improve MTTR.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and support escalations.
  • Collaborate with teams and provide guidance on technical matters.
  • Create documentation and runbooks for developers and operations.
  • Participate in communities of practice and evaluate new cloud technologies.

Summary of the Job: As a Cloud Engineer, you will help drive the delivery of first-class cloud solutions (on the AWS platform). You will use cloud-based technologies to modernize infrastructure, provide infrastructure automation services, and migrate workloads to the cloud. You will also partner with software development teams to streamline and automate release management pipelines. As a Cloud Engineer, you will play a key role in helping FNBO achieve its cloud computing strategy and driving our IT transformation efforts.

About This Role
Responsibilities
  • Utilizes industry best practices to continuously develop and maintain a resilient, secure, scalable, and efficient cloud-hosted platform to support the ongoing cloud transformation for FNBO.
  • Assist with the inputs for recommendations for cloud design, infrastructure design, software development design/architecture, application frameworks, and/or interfaces.
  • With some guidance, implement tools and automation to provide self-service capabilities to the organization for building, configuring, maintaining, and monitoring cloud-based infrastructure and cloud platform services (Infrastructure as Code and Configuration as Code).
  • Automate and evolve the pipelines to continuously integrate and deploy code (CI/CD).
  • Leverage technologies (such as Terraform and Ansible) and scripting languages to build automations to enhance the efficiency and reliability of processes.
  • Leverage the observability platform (Dynatrace) to identify and address cloud infrastructure deficiencies, availability gaps, performance bottlenecks, and improve mean time to resolution (MTTR).
  • Troubleshoot production issues and respond to after-hours escalations.
  • Escalate support issues to vendors (when necessary) to drive timely resolution of issues for critical systems.
  • Collaborate with peer organizations, product delivery teams, and support organizations to provide guidance on technical matters in a clear, concise, and easily understood manner.
  • Create and deliver documentation and presentations to developers and operations teams to share knowledge (Architecture diagrams, system flows, run books, procedures, etc.).
  • Actively participate in community of practices and demonstrate a solid understanding of cloud computing technologies.
  • Follow emerging industry trends and build proof of concepts to evaluate current cloud technologies, concepts, designs, and provide new recommendations.
  • Periodically assist with the testing and maintenance of the disaster recovery plan for our hybrid multi-cloud environment.
The Ideal Candidate for This Role
Experience
  • 2-4 years of engineering experience on a major cloud platform required (AWS preferred)
  • 2-4 years of experience with server administration (Linux preferred), networking or infrastructure required
  • Experience with AWS services (Preferred): Networking: VPC / Subnets / Route Tables / VPG / Security Groups
  • Compute: EC2 / AutoScaling / Load Balancers
  • Database: RDS / Aurora / DynamoDB
  • Other: SQS / SNS / S3 / IAM / EKS / CloudWatch / CloudFront / Kinesis / Lambda
  • Experience with Infrastructure and Application Monitoring concepts
  • Experience administering Kubernetes clusters
  • A strong background in scripting and/or programming languages (BASH, Perl, Ruby, Python, YAML, Java, etc.)
  • 4 years of experience in the IT field
Knowledge
  • Cloud certifications from the major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) preferred
  • Knowledge in designing & implementing infrastructure-as-a-code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, and GitLab.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies such as EKS, ECS and Docker
  • Knowledge of networking, firewalls, load balancers etc.
  • Knowledge of private cloud and hybrid cloud configurations required
  • Knowledge of ITSM delivery

Compensation

Compensation range (base pay): $79,363.00-$130,949.00. This role may have a specific starting pay within this range. Final compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.

Work Environment

It is anticipated that the incumbent in this role will work in a hybrid capacity, balancing in-person collaboration three (3) days a week with remote flexibility two (2) days a week. As part of our team, you’ll experience the energy and relationship-building of face-to-face collaboration while still enjoying the flexibility of remote workdays. We provide the tools and technology to ensure seamless transitions between work environments, supporting your productivity wherever you are. Please note that work location is subject to change based on business needs.
