Our Technology Services Hosted Platform Solutions team is excited to announce an opening for a Cloud Engineer II. This role is perfect for individuals at the beginning of their career who are eager to make a significant impact and be part of something extraordinary.

As a Cloud Engineer II, you will play a crucial role in assisting service owners in both traditional and cloud native environments, ensuring 24x7 operations while advancing SRE principles through automation initiatives. This hybrid position combines the responsibilities of a system engineer and a cloud engineer. You will ensure the operational integrity and compliance of services within Jack Henry Data Centers, as well as those already deployed in the cloud. Your duties will include automating services, facilitating cloud migrations, building Infrastructure as Code (IaC) pipelines, and supporting internal teams.

Location and Work Arrangement: This position offers the flexibility to work remotely from any location in the United States.

What you'll be responsible for:

• Monitor server performance and assist with routine maintenance.
• Assist with basic cloud administration tasks.
• Perform routine maintenance on operational software and tools. Assist with basic disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Assist with basic cloud migration tasks.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams on basic tasks.
• Implement simple automation solutions with guidance.
• Create and update operational documentation with guidance.
• Assist with basic client onboarding tasks.
• Manage and support internal production server infrastructure, development, and testing environments and pipelines.
• Manage and support public cloud production, testing, and development environments and pipelines.
• Maintain operational software and tooling such as Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Octopus Deploy, Apache Tomcat, etc.
• Implement Site Reliability & Disaster Recovery processes.
• Build and support company's growth into public cloud services and Infrastructure as Code.
• Develop strong relationships with the DevOps team(s) to ensure best practice implementations.
• Implement automation across both public and private cloud data centers.
• Maintain processes, tools, and documentation related to operational environments.
• Develop processes and procedures for new client onboarding activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What you'll need to have:

• Minimum of 2 years of Windows Server Administration experience.
• Minimum of 1 year experience with Azure and/or GCP.
• Experience with Terraform and GitOps.
• Experience with automation tools such as PowerShell, Ansible, or Chef.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as SCOM, Splunk, Honeycomb, Datadog, or Prometheus.
• Experience with networking devices and protocols.
• Ability to work in an after-hours on-call rotation, one week every 3 months.

Nice to have:

• Experience working with VMWare.
• Experience with Linux.
• Knowledge of SRE principles, including SLOs, SLIs, TOIL reduction, automation, and root cause analysis.
