Job summary

Akina Inc. is seeking a Cloud Engineer / Full Stack Developer (SWE2) for Fort Meade, MD / OPS1. You will design and implement cloud-native, full-stack solutions using Python or Java, with data modeling and relational DB interfaces in MySQL or PostgreSQL.

Responsibilities include building data processing workflows, automation with AWS API, and CI/CD pipelines, while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and 14+ years of software engineering in a Linux environment, or 18+ years in lieu of a degree.
• Experience developing software using Python or Java.
• Experience in data modeling, including normalization of data and working with metrics.
• Experience developing and maintaining web-based server applications and implementing algorithms interfacing with MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Experience developing task automation using AWS API.
• Experience with Linux and shell scripting.
• Ability to design, develop, and implement data processing workflows.
• Ability to work with JSON, YAML, or NoSQL databases.

Description:

Cloud Engineer / Full Stack Developer (SWE2) at Fort Meade, MD / OPS1.

Position Required Skills:

• Experience developing software using Python or Java.
• Experience in data modeling, including with normalization of data and working with metrics.
• Experience developing and maintaining web-based server applications and implementing algorithms that interface with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Experience developing task automation using AWS API.
• Experience with periodic or streaming data.
• Experience with Linux and shell scripting.
• Ability to design, develop, and implement data processing workflows.
• Ability to develop and optimize data structures within and between routines and for data storage and retrieval using JSON, YAML, or NoSQL Databases.

Position Desired Skills:

• Experience with unstructured databases, including Mongo or Elasticsearch, and graph databases, including Neo4J.
• Experience with implementation of test environments for automated code validation.
• Experience working with containers.
• Experience developing CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IAC) and tooling, including Terraform.
• Experience with mono-repo architecture and tooling.
• Experience developing pipelines using the AWS API, to include Lambda and Step functions.
• Knowledge of network protocols such as NMP or BGP.
• Ability to work in an ambiguous, fast-paced, highly collaborative, and team-oriented environment and balance long- and short-term taskings.

SWE2 Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science field and 14+ years of experience with general software engineering in a Linux environment, or 18+ years of experience with general software engineering in a Linux environment in lieu of a degree.

Salary Range: $241k-$295k (Annually)

The range displayed above is a likely salary range for this position. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possible contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
