Job summary

FHLB Des Moines is seeking a Cloud Engineer to support cloud-based systems across the IT department. You will administer Microsoft cloud services, design and implement scalable solutions, and help ensure backups, security, and disaster recovery.

The role requires 5–7 years of cloud experience, hands-on with AWS, Azure, and GCP, plus scripting skills and IaC with Terraform. You will collaborate across teams in a hybrid work environment and contribute to strategic IT roadmaps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• 5-7 years’ experience in cloud engineering or a related role.
• Experience engineering and administering enterprise backup/restore solutions, web servers, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Exchange, and/or other enterprise cloud services.
• Hands-on experience with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with scripting languages and automation tools.

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and maintain the Bank’s cloud services and other cloud-based solutions.
• Ensure system backups and recovery using cloud-based solutions.
• Manage and plan project work related to platform upgrades, patches, and modifications to services as needed.
• Evaluate cloud services used by the Bank, and understand how they integrate with infrastructure services.
• Design integration of cloud applications and infrastructure services into existing IT systems.
• Implement and manage cloud security controls, IAM policies.
• Develop disaster recovery processes and procedures.
• Develop scripts for configuration management automation and process improvements.
• Respond to incidents, problems, and service requests.
• Research and recommend new cloud technologies to meet business objectives.
