Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Cloud Engineer in Washington, D.C., with a hybrid work setup. The role focuses on developing cloud-native solutions, automation, and supporting cloud service delivery across enterprise environments, including DOJ programs.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in IT or CS and 5+ years of relevant experience, with strong DevSecOps and IaC skills. This position offers growth in cloud security and cost-optimized cloud operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience designing, developing, and supporting cloud architecture and cloud service delivery models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, DaaS).
• Strong DevSecOps, cloud automation, and GitLab-based development workflows experience.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies and automated cloud resource provisioning.
• Experience with containerization, container orchestration, and cloud security best practices.
• Ability to analyze applications and develop migration, deployment, cost optimization, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Experience managing cloud policies, governance frameworks, and highly available cloud environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and independent decision-making skills.

Compensation for the Cloud Engineer:

• Salary range: $130,000 - $180,000 *depending on experience*
